BOOK: Journeys to Zion is a story of Duane’s ancestors. On all sides they were Mormon pioneers who participated in the settlement of the Utah Territory in the 1800s. They emigrated from the Isle of Man, England, Scotland, South Africa, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Alabama. The book offers biographies of them, beginning with their lives before they joined the LDS religion and traveled to Utah (often by foot across the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains). Also examined is culture and religion in early nineteenth century America and Britain, with an emphasis on the founding of the LDS religion. Publication expected 2026.
