Betty White Brings Down the House at 89

Does comic timing improve with age? Yes, is the answer suggested by this six and a half minute-video of Betty White performing in tribute to fellow actor Morgan Freeman. White’s appearance was in honor of the American Film Institute (AFI) Life Achievement Award given last year to Freeman. Her skit centers on references to Driving Miss Daisy and Hello Dolly. A friend recently put me on to this video and I am passing on his favor.

For those concerned about aging and decreasing time, this video of White, age 89 at the time, will serve as tonic and inspiration. (Freeman, age 74, is just a yung-un.) If this clip doesn’t prompt you to smile, you must be having an irretrievably bad day, for which in addition to this video I offer my sympathy.

I WAS having a bad day — having just lost another good friend — and this was a fabulous gift. Thanks……….you continue to be an inspiration as well.
